Prenatal and Postnatal Resources

There are so many resources for parents in Austin, Texas.  This is by no means a complete list.  These are just some people and places that I personally recommend.

Yogapeutics : A unique and amazing studio in south Austin offering aerial yoga classes.

The Little Yoga House :   A wonderful studio for moms, babies and kids.  They also offer family classes and aerial yoga camps.

Tribe: I wish I had Tribe when I had my first baby.   A supportive community of moms, wonderful exercise classes specifically tailored for prenatal and postpartum fitness.

Amanda Wyszkowski:  Amanda acted as our back up doula during my second pregnancy.  She has a warm, funny and open manner that make her a great choice for a doula.  She has experience with all kinds of birth experiences including C section and VBAC.

Aneta Hayne Photography: Aneta is wildly talented.  She works as a family, birth and newborn photographer.

Kelli Foulkrod: Counseling services related to infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, pregnancy loss or termination, birth trauma, adoption, NICU parents, and more.  Kelli also offers group courses using yoga for therapy for depression.

To get out of the house with your brand new baby

Emler Swim School : This was one of my favorite activities as a new mom. My husband also enjoyed these classes.  Free before six months with a registration fee.  Great way to meet other new parents and babies while introducing your little one to the water.

Mothers Unfolding: I was so fortunate to find this mother's group.  Lanell is an invaluable resource and she added so much meaning to my transition to being a mom. The sessions were held in her home.  I still have friends I made in this group.  She also offers birthing classes and though I haven't personally experienced them, I'm sure they are awesome.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

The Relate Center : Susan Steffes is kind, compassionate and informative.  I've also heard positive feedback about the other therapists who work here.

Sullivan Physical Therapy: I recommend Christina McGee but this practice is a great resource for prenatal and postpartum physical therapy needs.
